šŸ”„ ā€œScriptural Answer to the Indictmentā€ — A Spiritual Shield, But Not a Legal Defense

Why Religious Language and ā€œFreedom of Religionā€ Do Not Override Federal Law

I want you to imagine for a moment what it feels like to be accused of criminal fraud, bank deception, misuse of veterans’ benefits, and false tax filings — not in a church bulletin or a sermon — but in a federal indictment, unsealed in a U.S. District Court.

Now ask yourself:

Can Scripture alone legally overturn documented evidence of fraud, deception, and manipulation that has been gathered and verified by the FBI, the Department of Justice, the IRS, and the Department of Veterans Affairs?

No.

That is precisely the dangerous flaw at the heart of the ā€œScriptural Answer to the Indictmentā€ flipbook letter, written by Priscilla Bercini.

Yes... Scripture matters.

Yes ... theology has power.

Yes ... God’s Word is authoritative.

But Scripture is not admissible legal evidence in a United States criminal court. A criminal indictment does not evaluate spiritual intent.

It evaluates actions, records, transactions, and compliance with law.

It asks one question:

Were laws broken, and is there evidence to prove it?

That is where the flipbook letter collapses under scrutiny... But you tried.

šŸ“œ What the Federal Indictment Actually Alleges

Before any discussion of theology, intent, or persecution, the facts of the case must be understood.

Federal investigators and prosecutors allege:

1. Conspiracy to Commit Bank Fraud

Rony Denis and other leaders are accused of concealing true buyers through ā€œstraw buyers,ā€ falsifying loan applications, forging documents, forming shell companies, and fraudulently obtaining mortgages for profit.

This is not theology.

This is alleged financial deception.

2. Conspiracy to Commit Wire Fraud

This involves the use of electronic communications and financial systems to carry out deceptive practices.

Religious language does not erase wire fraud.

3. Fraud Against the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs

The indictment alleges that affiliated seminaries accepted more than $26.5 million in GI Bill funds while certifying that they did not receive federal money, despite regulations that should have disqualified them.

This is alleged misuse of federal education benefits intended for veterans.

4. Filing False Tax Returns

Denis is accused of knowingly filing false income tax returns.

That is not a spiritual disagreement.

That is allegedly making false statements under penalty of perjury.

Where the Flipbook LetterFails

The flipbook attempts to counter these allegations with statements such as:

ā€œThis is evangelism, not recruitmentā€

ā€œWe were obeying Godā€

ā€œScripture commands soulwinningā€

ā€œThis is religious persecutionā€

While these statements may resonate emotionally with believers, they have no legal weight.

ā— Religious Intent ≠ Legal Immunity

Courts do not accept ā€œwe were doing God’s workā€ as a defense for:

āœ” False loan documents

āœ” Financial misrepresentation

āœ” Misuse of government funds

āœ” False tax filings

In law, intentional deception remains illegal regardless of motive.

Substituting Theology for Evidence

A consistent pattern throughout the flipbook is the replacement of evidence with spiritual language:

ā€œIt wasn’t fraud — it was ministry.ā€

ā€œIt wasn’t deception — it was obedience.ā€

ā€œIt wasn’t manipulation — it was discipline.ā€

But none of this addresses documented evidence.

The indictment references allegations of:

  • Pressuring members into damaging financial arrangements

  • Using personal information in fraudulent transactions

  • Diverting GI Bill funds

  • Spending income on leaders’ personal liabilities

  • Making false certifications to regulators

  • Filing knowingly false tax returns

These claims are supported by investigations involving:

  • FBI

  • Department of Justice

  • IRS Criminal Investigation

  • VA Office of Inspector General

This is not speculation.

It is federal law enforcement.

Ma’am.

Respectfully.

Are you really out here trying to gaslight a federal court, multiple investigative agencies, and the entire public… with a flipbook and some Bible verses?!

Like:

The FBI: ā€œWe have documents.ā€

The IRS: ā€œWe have records.ā€

The DOJ: ā€œWe have witnesses.ā€

The VA: ā€œWe have audits.ā€

And you’re like:

ā€œOkay but… have you considered these Scriptures that we don’t actually live?"

Be serious.

You don’t get indicted on 26 federal counts and respond with, ā€œActually, Your Honor, this was a worship service.ā€

That’s not a defense. That’s moral flatulence!

You’re releasing something loud, dramatic, and self-important into the room…

…that smells like nothing but excuses. You’re basically taking serious wrongdoing and trying to cover it with spiritual language instead of accountability.

Not repentance.

Not truth.

Not responsibility.

Just hot air.

ā€œThey honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.ā€ (Matthew 15:8)

Moral flatulence is performative holiness without moral substance. It's when someone would rather be ā€œspiritualā€ than honest.

It’s the refusal to say:

ā€œI sinned. I hurt people. I need to make it right.ā€

And choosing instead:

ā€œThis is persecution. This is worship. This is misunderstanding.ā€

No.

It’s deception wrapped in worship language.

And it stinks.

You cannot look at bank fraud, wire fraud, tax fraud, and GI Bill fraud and say, ā€œBut… we meant well.ā€

Ma’am.

So did every scammer in history.

Intent does not erase receipts. Calling it ā€œministryā€ does not delete spreadsheets. Quoting Paul does not cancel subpoenas. You can’t sanctify criminal behavior and call it spiritual warfare when someone calls you out.

And the fact that you’re trying to spiritually spin your way out of federal charges is wild.

ā€œUnder Godā€ Does Not Cancel Federal Law

The flipbook letter implies that religious freedom gives you the freedom to break the law.

It does not.

No one is exempt from financial, tax, and fraud statutes because of religious status.

The indictment is based on:

  • Bank records

  • Financial audits

  • Communications

  • Regulatory filings

  • Witness statements

  • Not religious interpretation.

A federal grand jury found probable cause for 26 counts.

That matters.

Why ā€œFreedom of Religionā€ Does Not Apply

One of the most misleading implications in the flipbook letter is that this case is protected by religious liberty.

It is not.

The First Amendment protects:

āœ” Belief

āœ” Worship

āœ” Teaching

āœ” Religious practice

It does not protect:

āœ– Fraud

āœ– False statements

āœ– Financial deception

āœ– Misuse of government funds

āœ– Falsified records

Freedom of religion means the government cannot control what you believe.

It does not mean the government cannot hold you accountable for how you conduct financial and organizational affairs.

This case is not about doctrine.

It is about alleged conduct.

No one is being prosecuted for preaching.

They are being prosecuted for what prosecutors allege are illegal transactions.

Calling that ā€œpersecutionā€ does not make it so.

Religious Language Does Not Equal Moral Authority

History has repeatedly shown that spiritual language can be used to justify harm.

Adolf Hitler, Jim Jones, and David Koresh all publicly claimed that they were acting in accordance with God’s will.

They used religious language.

They claimed divine purpose.

They demanded loyalty in the name of faith.

And history records the devastation that followed.

This is not sensationalism.

It is fact.

It demonstrates a critical truth:

  • Claiming to act ā€œfor Godā€ does not make actions righteous.

  • It does not make them lawful.

  • And it does not place leaders beyond accountability.

Courts evaluate conduct, not claims of calling.

What the Flipbook Letter Avoids

The document does not directly confront:

āœ” Falsified documents

āœ” Millions in GI Bill funds

āœ” Exploitative recruitment practices

āœ” Mortgage manipulation

āœ” False regulatory certifications

āœ” False tax filings

Instead, it reframes them as ā€œzeal.ā€

That is not what the indictment alleges.

That is why the document is not credible in court.

The Heart of the Matter

You cannot satisfy a federal indictment with Scripture alone.

You cannot counter bank fraud with Bible verses.

You cannot resolve tax fraud with theological language.

In court, what matters is:

  • Evidence

  • Records

  • Transactions

  • Witnesses

  • Statutory elements

Not spiritual framing.

Not emotional appeals.

Not claims of persecution.

You do not get to rob people, manipulate families, traumatize followers, cook books, lie to authorities, and wreck lives…

then stand up and say,

ā€œBut Your Honor, I prayed first.ā€

Be serious. What we are seeing here is not repentance. It is religious deflection.

It is, ā€œIf I say ā€˜God’ enough times, maybe nobody will notice the evidence.ā€

Ma’am. Do you really believe what you wrote?

Sir. WHAT IS YOUR REAL NAME?!

That is not how reality works.

You cannot launder sin through Scripture and call it sanctified. You cannot baptize abuse and call it revival. You cannot anoint fraud and call it favor.

Let’s stop pretending.

This was not ā€œGod’s will.ā€ This was human greed wearing church clothes.

Priscilla, there was a time when I genuinely believed you loved the truth.

That integrity mattered to you.

That the Gospel meant more than loyalty to a man, a system, or a narrative.

I believed you would stand when it was costly.

Speak when it was uncomfortable.

Choose Jesus over image.

I was wrong.

Not ā€œmistaken.ā€

Not ā€œconfused.ā€

Wrong.

Because somewhere along the way, truth became optional.

Silence became spiritual.

And compromise got baptized and called ā€œwisdom.ā€

You didn’t lose your voice.

You loaned it.

You didn’t drift.

You decided.

And watching someone trade conviction for convenience is one of the quietest heartbreaks there is.

These ministers did this to themselves! They’ve gaslighted the word of God for so long, and they’ve manipulated the members for twice as long that they don’t know the truth from a lie! That’s just what they do! They care about themselves and will go to every extent to blame others or give illogical and irrelevant reasons for their behavior! I suppose they don’t believe that the Bible states that God will spew them out of His mouth! What a disgrace! 🫩

And Bercini, of all people, should leave the situation alone because it’s making you look bad!

No kidding!!! If they stand on their beliefs, the court can’t argue that unless a crime was committed. Quite telling they couldn’t stand behind those beliefs and just leave it up right?!

None of it would ever be debated in a court of law. None of the major charges were even addressed anyways šŸ˜‚ Totally bypassed identity theft, tax charges, etc. and where is all the money??????

And what about Semexants charges too? What absolves him in their eyes? Him and his likely conviction can never be separated from the church. Let their be evidence they knew and now mandatory reporters: didn’t report!! Punishable by the law!

Well.

It appears the flipbook letter has vanished.

Not because of growth.

Not because of reflection.

Not because of some late-night, tearful awakening of self-awareness.

No.

More likely because someone said,

ā€œTake. That. Down.ā€

And suddenly the courage to publish evaporated faster than the theological gymnastics it contained.

You know that moment when you confidently post something…

And then someone with actual authority steps in like,

ā€œAbsolutely not.ā€

Yeah. That.

Listen.

When your public defense reads like a middle school craft project wrapped in persecution complex and laminated in denial…

Sometimes it doesn’t disappear because of conviction.

Sometimes it disappears because someone higher up in the food chain realizes,

ā€œWe cannot afford this level of embarrassment.ā€

That wasn’t repentance.

That…

I noticed that too and came to update the removal. Glad you’re in it!

That was also evidence, of control and manipulation. She outlined the exact playbook of manipulating the Bible to justify, doing what they did.

I realized last night- each point was actually an unconscious point of shame.

Anyways. Internet is forever. I’m SURE it’s been copied in its full glory and entirety!!! I warned her: get off the internet. Adding, I’m not sure she wrote it either. šŸ˜‚ Never know with them, what’s real and what’s fake and masked. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø Always have to second guess without walking in full transparency and truth as a character trait.

Hearyee people of the court of public opinion! She opened the door to it, with her publically shared opinion of scripture. You, nor HoP, holds the key to opinions. The self proclaimed living embodiment of Acts worship, ran through that entire indictment…cherry picked what worked for her and her life of comfort, pretend normal … and missed the whole other parts of actual major evidence.

Her schtick is to prove her side, through public opinion…. I want my church back to ā€œnormal,ā€ Acts worshipping…these are false charges! None of what she says holds up in court… but the charges are real.

So! Let’s have some fun! In the spirit of the court of public opinion… I shall show you a…

Well said!!! Well analyzed! Seems obvious to you and me for sure.

I want to share my thoughts, as the thoughts that came to my mind as I read this public document:

-the church is not on trial

-how one worships is not on trial, crimes are

-did she actually send this to Sadow?

-does she actually feel Sadow needs words like ā€œRuleā€ defined for him?

-I think she needs the definition of ā€œTrauma Bondā€

-this all screams I DONT TRUST GOD

-someone who claimed copyright, sure don’t mind copy pasting the Bible

-does she not notice of the veterans she named, 10 of them have left?

-she blew in 3 defendants for the seminary, leaving RD out, as if…
