They can’t understand why outside people do not see it the way they do. They really think it means what they have been conditioned to think what it means. Because it’s quite clear to see, RD’s charity went to himself. He was not a person of charity at all. It’s like the opposite game.
When my spouse came out, it specifically was “truth” as the code word of authority.
Anyways… good news is, modern Religious Trauma Theraphy has grown in awareness, and most of all, Jesus is the ultimate Physician. He can perform miracles in the mind and heart toward healing of even this type of healing.
As well, there is such a support network now for those who leave. Something many didn’t have in the early days of people leaving.
