An Army of Support is Waiting

When I walked out of the doors of HOPCC years ago, I did it trembling. My body was free, but my soul felt shattered. I didn’t know where to go. I didn’t know who to trust or talk to that would understand. What I longed for most was someone—anyone—to meet me at that breaking point and say: You are not alone. You don’t have to do this by yourself. There is life outside these walls.
I didn’t have a network of survivors waiting with open arms. I didn’t have people already praying for me before I even made my decision to leave. I had to claw my way out into silence.
I'm grateful beyond measure today that you don’t have to.
Today, there is an army of support—former members, families, pastors, advocates—who have been where you are and are ready to walk with you into freedom. Every single day, prayers are being lifted up for you. Not in vague generalities, but by name, by face, by memory. People are calling out to God on your behalf right now, even as you read this.
You don’t see them yet, but they are there. A network of people, bound not by control or fear, but by compassion and love. A web of hands ready to catch you when you take that step.
These are people who know the nights of pacing the floor in dread, the manipulation, the twisting of scripture, the suffocating silence when you start to question. They know because they’ve lived it. And they broke free.
When you’re ready, even if it’s just a whisper, reach out. Send a text message. Make a call. We will answer. You won’t be met with judgment, interrogation, or pressure—you’ll be met with compassion, urgency, and the understanding of someone who’s carried the same scars.
You’ve probably convinced yourself for years that no one would understand. And maybe you believed all the lies that were spoken about us. None of matters here.
HOPCC may have told you that you’d be walking away into nothing. But that’s a lie. There is life, there is joy, and there is family waiting for you on the other side of those gates. You are not leaving into nothing—you are stepping into everything.
The army is already praying. The way has already been made. The only piece missing is you.
And when you’re ready, we’ll be here.
You are not alone. If you are in HOPCC, and ready to make your way out and don't know how to go about it. Call us.
Yours truly— Blackhawk Missions
